Spanish American War Medal, Presented as a gift from Dr. W. Steward Web to the members of the First Vermont Infantry in 1899. Approximately 1030 medals were issued, being made from medal taken from Admiral Cervera’s flagship “Maria Teresa”. Top bar is inscribed “First Vermont Infantry, USV” and is stamped on he back with the Manufactures hallmark “ J.K. Davidson Phila.” Reverse of medal has the inscription “The Gift Of W.S. Webb” and is stamped “Co. D”. Although privately funded, this medal was treated as an official award. Originally had a green silk ribbon, now missing. There is a small chip to the red enamel in the corner of top arm. See “State Medals for War Service” By Doug Boyce. Measures 2 ¾” long By 1 ½” wide.

GERMAN ETCHED FORESTRY DAGGER.  This original early, 1930s--40s German Forestry Dagger has stag handles and gold washed brass fittings.  The dagger with leather scabbard measures approx. 18-1.2" overall length; the blade itself, measures approx.12".  Blade appears to be unmarked.  The engravings on one side show fox's, a hound and a pair of pheasants.  The opposite side of the blade features running deer.  Both sides have ornate design work.  The dagger is in very good original condition.  The stag handle has 3 acorns present (3 seem to be missing) and the hilt end piece is shaped like a stag's hoof.
